If you opt for a netbook, light and small, Acer Aspire AS1410-8414 is the choice. This is a netbook with steroids. I'm waiting for Windows 7 a free upgrade CD to see how it behaves. Actually do not create partitions and install Ubuntu 9.04, when they review them. Ubuntu 9.04 supports all the hardware (microphone, webcam, etc.), and the only thing you have to do is go to the hard drive in BIOS IDE. Ubuntu is impressive, it takes about 2 minutes to startup and shutdown. I also use the CPU-management tool max CPU speed, and fly. (He tries to save energy, slow down the CPU)

Just to mention, because I recently saw the review failed fan, I got my 1410 and that today, rather loudly humming noise of the fan. Replacement is on its way. I have been involved in problems of the new trackpad defective Toshiba Mini (Toshiba has approved the problems of the production process, it is not) and I hope that mfg no problem here. Everything else on the 1410 looks great, nice screen and keyboard. The construction is a bit 'more plastic, Toshiba, and the trackpad is significantly smaller, but everything else blows the water from other netbooks, and is about the same size and weight. Amazing! I'll post more when the replacement arrives.

First, I am sure that this would be a great laptop that I was really looking for. It 'very quiet, very light and very strong (hold it with one hand in a corner!) And of course, very small. All specifications are slightly better quality netbook for a little over a price of netbooks. I had a lot more money on a superior system to obtain absolute. The keyboard is nice, the screen is bright, wireless connections are strong, the battery life is probably not six hours, but very long (there are versions of non-American Series Acer timeline 8 hours with battery)
